Al-Awael Private School was founded in 1984 within the Omani educational standard. Today, Al-Awael School stands among the top rank schools in the country, and meets the international standards. The school benefits from purposely-built luxurious facilities in bright, airy and spacious buildings. Moreover, the school buildings have been built following the international standards and equipped with a well-trained and extremely qualified academic and administrative team. Al-Awael Private School provides high-quality education for children from kindergarten till high school. We developed extra-curriculum activities which provide the child with structured, supportive, and balanced platform via which they can develop the essential learning skills they are going to need in their life. These activities boost the student’s natural curiosity and creativity. That is met through the knowledge of learning to find answers to what they are searching for. As for students to construct this knowledge, they need the opportunity to discover themselves, and practice skills in authentic situations. Al-Awael academic curriculum provides students with access to hands-on activities. It also allows adequate time and space to use materials that reinforce the lesson which is being studied as well as creating an opportunity for the individual discovery and construction of knowledge to occur.

Helping students to develop self-respect, and care for others and their environment occurs through a free sharing of ideas, and judicious approach to school discipline norms. In our schools, the voice of parents and each student is heard; hence, the free-speech-environment evolves. We believe children will only have greater respect for their teachers, their peers, and the lessons presented when they feel safe and sure of what is expected from them. We achieve this by setting fair and consistent rules, and stating the importance of every activity. In addition to that, students are shown respect for their presence and time, and in return, they learn to respect themselves, others, and their environment.

The school was first established in year 1984 under the name of New Al-Khoudh Private School. The school was using monolingual syllabus, Omani Ministry of Education curriculum, similar to what is implemented today in Oman public schools

With our new management and creative ideas, in the year 2001, we adopted an improvement program which not only initiated and introduced Bilingual Syllabus, but also altered administrative practices.

Moreover, all batches of our General Highschool Diploma Certificate students achieved 100% pass. Due to that, the Ministry of Higher Education awarded them with scholarships to colleges and universities here in Oman and abroad. With such success. we felt that it is our responsibility to introduce an International Education under the Al-Awael umbrella to serve our future leaders, and prepare them to become international citizens. Proudly, this year we are opening our new branch that is equipped with topnotch technology and international A’s and A-level education; it is expected to start from the next academic year 2021/2022.
